Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. It offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. Presbyterian Women was created in 1988 with the reunited Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Presbyterian Women has a structure similar to that of PCUSA, in that there are groups called Circles at the Congregation level and Coordinating Teams at the Presbytery, Synod and Church-wide levels.

PW Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

The 2021 Churchwide Business meeting and Gathering of Presbyterian Women was held virtually. The theme for the Gathering was “Rejoice in Hope” based on Romans 12:12–13,“Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.”
