Attendance was high at the Presbytery meeting at the Brunswick Church on January 29th, when the Disaster Response Task Force offered a Preparedness Plan for a first reading. The plan includes materials for individual congregations, the presbytery office, as well as regional considerations.

Also available on the website is the new Grant and Loan Manual, which spells out how congregations may apply for grants and loans for capital improvements.

The Peacemaking Task Force also made a major contribution to the meeting. Rick Ufford-Chase, Executive Director of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship, preached and together with Bebb Stone, the Chair of the task force, brought attention to the Peace Discernment Process in which our entire denomination has been encour-aged to participate (see article on page 4).

Another highlight of the meeting was the examination of Kathryn Bielke for ordination. Ms Bielke has been called to serve the Hudson Church, and we welcome her to this ministry and this presbytery!
