Albany Presbytery Fall 2019 Koinonia Retreat
- This event has passed.
September 14, 2019, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
When & Where is this being held?
Your Koinonia Team (Helping Make Our Common Life Together Uncommonly Good) is planning our Presbytery’s (almost) fall retreat for September 14th 2019. We’ll be gathering at the geographical center of our presbytery, the Ballston Spa Presbyterian church for a full day of discipleship building. We hope you’ll come!
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. (snacks and fellowship starting at 9), we will be sharing with each other how we understand and live out our ordination vows with each other in the world. How we do that has probably changed over time, and we’ll get to share that as well. Earl Johnson, Honorably Retired, will provide a background and outline for our discussion, but we all will be the key to a useful retreat. We can help each other grow in Christ by sharing with each other our own experiences and understandings of our ordination vows as we examine them together.
There will be times to listen, to think, to share, and to participate in a variety of other learning experiences as we choose.
Who is invited?
Everyone in our presbytery who has answered our ordination questions with their own personal “I do’s and I will’s”: Deacons, Ruling Elders and Teaching Elders. But more are invited. Do you know people who might become Elders and Deacons? Invite them so they can learn more about our calling! If you’re reading this you fall into one of those categories! Come! Do you know anyone else who does? Invite them!
Oh, it’s free, with lunch, and dessert provided by The Sweet-Tooth Caterers included! That’s a pretty good deal!
How do I register to attend?
Register soon by contacting our Vice-Moderator, Michael Burkley, directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or by filling out the information below.
* We originally scheduled this retreat for October, but there was a conflict with Boundary Awareness Training. So we changed the date. We hope you’re flexible, too!
