This invitation is not restricted to presbytery meeting commissioners! Non-commissioners will be free to leave at 9:45 if they wish.
3 Open Space Options for the January 26th gathering in Ballston Spa:
The Rev. Michael Plank will share stories from Underwood CrossFit: our new worshipping community where exercise blends with group building and prayerful reflection. Insights you gain may help you connect better with “spiritual-but-not-religious” neighbors.
You’ll also learn how the presbytery’s Church Mission Committee can help you discern and/or reach mission goals. Take home a resource sheet for your Session or your local mission committee. And of course, enjoy networking.
Proposed Amendments to our PC(USA) Book of Order, led by Vice-Moderator, Rev. Michael Burkley
“Amazingly enough, the governance of the Presbyterian Church (USA) is left up to … us! Our churches elect Ruling Elders to serve in the local church and the presbytery. Working with the Presbytery our churches call pastors to teach and care for their congregations and to serve in the mission of the presbytery. The presbytery, as a union of our local churches, reaches out to our larger denomination and world, and inward to support its churches in their ministry. It’s a rather complicated system that is sometimes bewildering but is always seeking to be faithful….”
