Dear Presbytery Leaders,
Blessings as you move into the Lenten season.  My name is Sarah Henkel and I recently joined the Synod of the Northeast team as Grants Coordinator. I am writing with a few updates and reminders regarding the next round of applications to the Synod of the Northeast grant funds.  Please share the following announcements broadly within your Presbytery.
The Synod of the Northeast Mission Working Group will be reviewing applications for the Innovation Grant fund and the Emerging Gospel Community Grant fund at the May 2021 Mission & Ministries Commission.  Grant applications to these funds will be due by April 2, 2021, for review at the April 30 – May 1, 2021, Mission & Ministries Commission.  Applications for these grant funds (Innovation and Emerging Gospel Community) not received by April 2, 2021, can submit applications for ‘second round’ review at the September 2021 Mission & Ministries Commission.  Be aware that fewer funds are available in the second round; only funds not allocated to the first round of applicants will remain.
There were funds remaining in the Campus Ministry Grant fund after the awards granted at the January 2021 Mission & Ministries Commission.  The Mission Working Group will also review the second round of applications to the Campus Ministry Grant fund at the May 2021 Mission & Ministries Commission.  Grant applications to these funds will be due by April 2, 2021, for review at the April 30 – May 1, 2021, Mission & Ministries Commission.
Grant criteria and the online submission forms can be found at https://www.synodne.org/innovation-intro   I am available as a resource to answer any questions regarding the application process.  Upon request, I am also able to provide a grant worksheet for applicants to use prior to submitting their grants online.
We look forward to receiving your applications!
With gratitude,
Sarah
