Ellis Residential & Rehabilitation Center is searching for an ordained or lay minister to provide a worship service for the Protestants who live there. The location is 600 McClellan Street, Schenectady.
This is a very meaningful ministry with senior citizens. The residents and their families look forward to a time each week when they can gather for prayer, song, scripture, and Holy Communion. The nursing home has 86 beds, is usually full to capacity and has a waiting list for people in need of nursing care. The recreation department is very supportive of the religious services offered by the Pastoral Care Department. Many Catholics attend the Protestant Services and many Protestants attend the Catholic services. All religious services are open and welcoming regardless of religious affiliation.
The Protestant service is offered every Wednesday at 10:00am. If you are interested in helping with this ministry one or two Wednesdays per month, please contact Father Green at 518-243-4064 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
