The Presbytery took the following action on January 25, 2020:
The maternity leave provisions in the proposed revised Personnel Policies & Practices of Albany Presbytery remain unchanged from the 2015 version. New York State has a new Paid Family Leave law that applies to all employees working 20 hours/week or more. Upon recommendation from COMAC, Presbytery ACTED by voice vote with no audible objections to recommend that all churches develop their own policies consistent with the Presbytery policy and in compliance with the state law and that churches contact their insurance carriers about adding a rider to their policies that would cover legal requirements for medical, maternity and paid family leave.
