Are your Sexual Misconduct, Child Safety & Harassment Policies up to date? The Book of Order now requires all congregations and councils to have these three, along with an Anti-Racism policy. Even if you have no children’s Sunday School or regular church attendance, these policies are still required.
If not, you’re in luck! Not only is there a template for congregations to use, but we are also hosting a Policy Writing Workshop where an individual or team from a congregation can attend and leave with a draft for your session to consider and adopt. All you need is a laptop computer and a person or two willing to devote a Saturday morning to completing this very important task.
On Saturday, November 1st, from 10 am-12 pm at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church, your Stated Clerk and members of the Presbytery’s Response, Training and Compliance Team will be present to walk you through creating a draft policy catered to your congregation’s size and ministry.
