Albany Presbytery Supporting Agricultural Program for Mam Presbyterial

by | Jul 6, 2025 | Guatemala Partnership

Through the work of the Guatemala Partnership Task Force, we are partnering with CEDEPCA and the Mam Presbyterial (the women’s organization of the Presbytery) on a pilot project to provide 100 women of the Presbytery with seeds to begin growing vegetables, including onions, cauliflower, and broccoli. This is through CEDEPCA’s Disaster Assistance and Prevention program, which has found that assistance with self-sustaining agricultural programs is an important part of helping communities build resilience to withstand disasters when they occur. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) funds and Hunger Program Funds also support the program. We are excited to engage in this program and look forward to sharing pictures and stories as the project unfolds!
