About the Trip

The Albany Presbytery Anti-Racism Task Force (ARTF) is sponsoring a Civil Rights pilgrimage to sacred sites in Montgomery and Selma.

Highlights include visits to:

Participants will:

  • Gather in advance for planning, prayer, and discussion
  • Read and reflect on the work of Bryan Stevenson
  • Share meals together, including at Black-owned restaurants

Additional Details:

  • A moderate amount of walking is expected
  • Space is limited to 10 participants. Early interest is encouraged.

September 28

  • Arrive at Airbnb and settle in

September 29

  • Visit Southern Poverty Law Center

September 30

  • Equal Justice Initiative, Legacy Museum, and National Memorial for Peace and Justice
  • Possible conversation with staff

October 1

  • Rosa Parks site
  • Cross the Edmund Pettis Bridge

October 2 (Optional)

  • Biscuit-making workshop (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM) in Marion, Alabama: Led by Southern Chef Scott Peacock – Cost: $300
  • Alternative options are available in Selma for those not participating
