Westminster Presbyterian Church, Albany Presbytery Peacemaking Task Force, The Climate Reality Project: Capital Region, NY Chapter, Delmar Presbyterian Church, New Scotland Presbyterian Church, and The Environmental Action Team of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ invite you to the first in a series of the Westminster Climate Forum:
Kathryn Beilke, The Plastic Pollution Crisis: Moving from Despair to Hope
Kathryn Beilke of Beyond Plastics will provide an overview of the climate, health, waste, and environmental justice implications of the plastic pollution crisis and what we can do about it. While the plastic pollution crisis can feel overwhelming and daunting, the solutions are within our grasp. In the last legislative session, the New York State Senate passed the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act (PRRIA), and if adopted by the Assembly in the upcoming session, PRRIA will be the most comprehensive waste reduction law in the country and serve as a model for other states. We in New York State have an opportunity to demonstrate leadership on real solutions and turn the tide on plastic pollution nationwide. Come and hear how you can move from despair to taking action!

About the Westminster Climate Forum:
Recognizing the need for immediate action on the climate crisis, Westminster Presbyterian Church is planning a Westminster Climate Forum. We will host four events at the church between the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025, each to feature a speaker focusing on the need for all of us to keep the reality of climate change top of mind and providing information and tools for individual and group policy advocacy to move away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy and environmental justice.
