The Hudson River Presbytery Racial Justice Partnership is hosting a two-day workshop focusing on narrative, trauma, and addressing community polarization. This event is open to all interested individuals.

Workshop Content: During the Monday workshop, participants will engage in sessions to understand the intricate dynamics of narrative, trauma, and community polarization. The agenda includes:

  • Making important distinctions between personal stories and the overarching narratives that shape our lives.
  • Exploring the role of trauma in shaping both personal and community narratives.
  • Understanding the influence of (racialized) narratives on communities and congregations.
  • Exploring narrative-based approaches to navigating a polarized world and finding paths forward.

Speaker: The workshop will be led by Dr. David Hooker, a renowned speaker known for his expertise in narrative studies and community engagement.

Note: Participants have the flexibility to attend either one or both days of the workshop. Each day will focus on a different topic and are experiential/interactive.
